About Sbrubles and me

that's me!

- Nuala because she’s the sweetest fairy in this world , at least on Neil Gaiman’s Sandman series (and “die Fee” means in German “the fairy”).

- Sbrubles: he, he…. that’s a nice slang in Brazilian Portuguese which means… hmmm… actually, it means lots of important things, lots of pointless things, or sometimes it just means nothing. And here you’ll find a spoonful of those things. :-P

- “A spoonful of…” is a mention to one of my favourite Pink Floyd albums: “A saucerful of secrets” , and it fits perfectly to this blog’s purpose.

- This blog: well, I had two Photoblogs (both of them deactivated) then I decided to write a Blog regularly, so I started (duh! it was a STUPID idea!!) to blog at MySpace. It’s almost impossible to be satisfied with MySpace Blog, so I started to look for a new Blog option. Then a friend of mine, Claus, who also has a Blog powered by WordPress, gave me this tip and voilà! Now I am blogging here. Let’s see if it works… :-P

- Me: a Brazilian living in Vienna, Austria, where I work for a German Multinational since May 2007. I am an economist, with MBA in Sales Management and Marketing, and currently also writing a Master thesis in Business Communication at the Technische Universität Dresden, in Germany. I’ve already lived in more than 15 different cities in different countries. And I normally say: “the world map is a draft of my house”.

… and YES, I am Geek!

Geek 87Geek

- Old Sbrubles: I started to write a newsletter regularly (in Portuguese) when I moved to Germany, in April 2003. The purpose was to keep my friends and relatives informed about everything what happens here on the other side of the ocean. I’ve copied all those old reports from my newsletter here @ “A spoonful of Sbrubles” (TM). It’s easier to find old posts, but sorry, everything in Portuguese… :-P

- And WTF am I writing this stuff here in English? Well, first of all, since I’m living in Germany/Austria and speaking/reading/writing in German everyday, my English became miserable. I have to practice! And besides of practice, I have some readers who don’t understand Portuguese, so I try to make it understandable for everybody! (ok, my parents don’t understand any other language but Portuguese, but they read my photo-blogs everyday!)

- Odd stuff to fill the spoonful of Sbrubles: My Yahoo! avatar!

… and countdown to my next Birthday:

Ticker to My Birthday

… and that’s all Folks!! If you like it here, just add my rss to your feedreader (I elected Google Reader for my feeds) and drop by sometimes!!! ;-)

beijos,

Jaqueline
